Terms of Service (AGB)

1. Use of Service
CVBuilderLab ("the Service") is operated by CVBuilderLab, Kapitän-Lehmann-Ring 28, 28309 Bremen, Germany. The Service provides an online platform for creating professional CVs, including a step-by-step editor, multiple templates, live preview, and PDF export functionality. By creating an account and using the Service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with these terms, you may not use the Service. You must be at least 16 years old to use the Service. By registering, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
2. Usage Rules
You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You are prohibited from: • Using the Service for any illegal or unauthorized purpose • Uploading content that is defamatory, obscene, or violates the rights of third parties • Attempting to gain unauthorized access to other accounts or our systems • Using automated tools (bots, scrapers) to access the Service without permission • Sharing your account credentials with third parties You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
3. Maintenance and Availability
We strive to keep the Service available at all times. However, we do not guarantee 100% availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to: • Scheduled maintenance and updates • Technical issues beyond our control • Force majeure events We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice.
4. Intellectual Property
The CVBuilderLab platform, including its design, templates, code, and branding, is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws. All rights are reserved by CVBuilderLab. You retain full ownership of the content you create using our Service (your CV data, text, and uploaded photos). We do not claim any rights to your content. You are granted a non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the templates and design elements solely for creating your personal CVs through the Service.
5. Fees and Pricing
We offer the following plans: • Free Plan: 1 CV, Classic template only, PDF export with watermark. • Premium Plan: Unlimited CVs, all 10 templates, clean PDF without watermark. Premium pricing: • Monthly: €4.99/month • Quarterly: €11.99/3 months (€3.99/month) • Yearly: €29.99/year (€2.49/month) All prices are final prices. As a small business according to § 19 UStG, no VAT is charged.
6. Payment Terms
Premium subscriptions are billed at the start of each billing cycle. We accept the following payment methods: • Credit/debit cards via Stripe • PayPal Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period unless cancelled before renewal. Failed payments may result in temporary suspension of Premium features until payment is resolved.
7. Limitation of Liability
CVBuilderLab is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied. We do not guarantee that the Service will meet your specific requirements or that it will be error-free. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from the use of our Service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you in the 12 months preceding the claim. This limitation of liability does not apply in cases of intent or gross negligence, or where liability cannot be excluded by law.
8. Duration and Termination
You may cancel your Premium subscription at any time through your account settings or by contacting us. After cancellation: • Your Premium access continues until the end of the current billing period • Your account reverts to the Free plan • Your CVs remain accessible, but features are limited to the Free plan We reserve the right to terminate or suspend your account if you violate these Terms of Service, with immediate effect and without prior notice in cases of serious violations. You may delete your account at any time through the settings page. Upon deletion, all your data (account, CVs, subscription data) will be permanently removed.
9. Right of Withdrawal
As a consumer within the European Union, you have the right to withdraw from a contract within 14 days without giving any reason (§ 355 BGB). The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day the contract is concluded. To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us (CVBuilderLab, Kapitän-Lehmann-Ring 28, 28309 Bremen) of your decision by a clear statement. Important: By purchasing a Premium plan, you expressly agree that we begin providing the digital service immediately and you acknowledge that you lose your right of withdrawal once the digital content has been fully provided (§ 356 Abs. 5 BGB).
10. Data Protection
We process your personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR/DSGVO) and our Privacy Policy. Please refer to our Privacy Policy for detailed information about data collection, processing, and your rights.
11. Consumer Dispute Resolution
The European Commission provides a platform for online dispute resolution (ODR): https://ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr/ We are neither willing nor obliged to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration board in accordance with the VSBG (Verbraucherstreitbeilegungsgesetz).
12. Final Provisions
These terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany. The place of jurisdiction is Bremen, Germany. Should any provision of these terms be or become invalid, the remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect. The invalid provision shall be replaced by a valid provision that comes closest to the economic purpose of the invalid provision. We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Changes will be communicated via email or by posting the updated terms on our website. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
